Around the congregation

Temple held its 82^nd annual meeting on Wednesday, March 8th serving as the formal introduction of new president Andy. Bocknek. The slate of offices was presented for a vote along with the proposed budget for 2023-2024 and changes to the Temple By-Laws. All motions were passed.

Bocknek spoke to a large crowd in person in Herman Hall and via zoom about his plans for the future, to work on finding meaningful connections and building relationships amongst members. He noted how he planned for his tenure to be dedicated to getting members more involved with Temple Israel. 

Outgoing president Joe Bigelman spoke about leading our congregation through a global pandemic, and the transitions that occurred during his presidency. He touched upon his excitement for Temple’s future with our newly elected leaders.

Bigelman also shared his excitement about some of the return to normalcy, highlighted earlier this week by a well-attended Purim carnival on Sunday and adult spiel on Monday night.
