Discover what we mean by ‘People of the Book.’ Having one library is good. Having two libraries is better. At Temple Israel we have two libraries on site: the Weinberg Family Library and the Hodari Family Children's Library & Media Center.

The Weinberg Family Library

The Weinberg Family Library houses a collection of over 10,000 volumes on Jewish theology, history, philosophy, Jewish life, Israeli studies, art, music, language and literature. This comprehensive collection includes classic and contemporary adult fiction from American, European and Israeli authors.  We have a large film collection as well.

The Hodari Family Children's Library and Media Center

For our younger members, The Hodari Family Children's Library and Media Center holds over 5,000 books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games of Jewish content for children of all ages, from preschool to high school, and provides students with access to the internet and a vast array of Hebrew and Judaic software programs.

Pizza & Pages

Join Librarian Lauren Marcus Johnson and 2nd Grade Teacher Anita Hack in the Hodari Family Children’s Library for stories, crafts, games, and fun! All 1st-3rd Grade book lovers are invited to participate. If you love pizza, books, and spending time in the Library then you’ll love this program! Pizza and Pages will meet after Sunday School, from 12 - 2 PM in the Hodari Family Children’s Library - for most current dates, please see our calendar.

A pizza lunch will be served ($5/person payable at the meeting). Students do not need to attend all of the meetings to participate, but reservations are required. Contact Lauren Marcus Johnson at 248-661-5700. Pizza and pages is supported by the Newman Family Fund for Library Programs & Resources.
