important reminders
We are very excited to welcome in 5786 with our Temple Israel family and friends! Please take a moment to carefully read the information below to ensure that you have a positive High Holy Day experience. - High Holy Day passes will be mailed on August 28th to all members in good standing. There is no need to pre-register for services. You may attend any service you wish. Each pass will only list the adults in the household, however the pass applies to everyone in the household.

Please bring your pass to every service you plan to attend. Your pass includes all members of your household, and we ask that all are present when entering services.

All guests will be required to walk through metal detectors. To help expedite entry into the Temple, we kindly ask that large bags and purses be left in your vehicles. Any bags brought inside will be subject to search.

If you need a guest pass for a family member or an out-of-town guest, please register them HERE. Please note only Temple Israel members can request a guest pass for someone. Guest passes will be available for pick up from Temple starting the week of September 8th or will be available at the WILL CALL table located at the entrance to services. This year, we are asking for a suggested donation when you register a guest to help defray the costs of our High Holy Day services.

If you will be out of town and would like to attend services at another congregation OR your guest is a member of an out-of-town synagogue, you can request reciprocity HERE.

We ask for planning purposes that guests register for the B'tzelem Elohim (Created In God’s Image) Rosh Hashanah Service (link HERE). This 'Rosh Hashanah Special Needs Inclusive Service' is open to the community and will take place in Herman Hall.

Many of our service offerings will be streamed on our website, YouTube channel and Facebook. When a service is offered at two different times, we will only stream the earlier option. B'Tzelem Elohim and Mincha Moments will not be streamed.

You will no longer need to bring or purchase Gates of Repentance prayer books. Temple will have the Gates of Repentance prayer books available in the pews. You do not need a prayer book for Family, Children's, B'tzelem Elohim or Yizkor services.

Childcare is available for most services for children ages 1-10. There is no cost for this service, however there will be a $10 charge if you do not show up for a registered time. Click HERE to register.

If you are staying for multiple events on Yom Kippur, there will be designated parking for you. Please follow the correct signage to the designated parking area.

Erev Rosh Hashanah service
Welcome in the New Year with this joyful, multi-generational service geared to adults and children of reading age and above.
Adult Rosh Hashanah service
Open to adults and children Bar/Bat Mitzvah age and above. Join our clergy as we usher in the New Year with beautiful melodies, familiar prayers, and the powerful sound of the shofar.
Family Rosh Hashanah service
Intended for those of reading age up to just prior to B'nai Mitzvah. Our clergy will lead an upbeat service featuring a mix of contemporary and traditional melodies as we welcome the New Year.
Children's Rosh Hashanah service
A fun, music-filled service for our tots and families complete with an interactive story and the sound of the shofar to welcome this sweet New Year.
B'Tzelem Elohim (Created in God's Image) Rosh Hashanah service
This service is designed to be a fully inclusive Rosh Hashanah service for all ages and abilities with their families, caregivers, support staff, friends and allies. This service is open to the entire community. It will be approximately 45 minutes in length and will include the music and prayers of the High Holy Days. Devices, fidgets, headphones, movement and participation of all kinds are encouraged.
Mincha Moments
These heartfelt stories will warm your heart and lead us all to build a more inclusive world. The experience will include music, storytelling, and introspective time for the holiday. This year we will feature jscreen CEO Matt Goldstein, MD, PhD and his wife, Myra Sack, who will share their powerful story of grief, survival and transcendence through the life and loss of their daugther, Havi.
Kol Nidre service
Adult service that ushers in the holy day of Yom Kippur with the melody of Kol Nidre as we reflect together on the year that has past.
Adult Yom Kippur service
Open to adults and children Bar/Bat Mitzvah age and above. We will come together as a community with inspiring music, meaningful prayer, and heartfelt reflection on this holiest of days.
Family Yom Kippur service
Intended for those of reading age up to just prior to B'nai Mitzvah. Temple Israel’s youth and clergy will lead our families in a moving prayer and song-filled Yom Kippur service.
Children's Yom Kippur service
Tots and families gather with the Temple Israel clergy for a special Yom Kippur service with story and songs, where we’ll ask for forgiveness and make amends as we look toward the New Year.
Yom Kippur Yizkor & Neilah service
Adult service memorializing our departed loved ones and, with the gates of prayer still open, conclude our Yom Kippur services with a final shofar blast.
yad Ezra Food drive
Every year, Yad Ezra’s Annual Yom Kippur Food Drive raises approximately 25,000 pounds of food, and your financial donations help service 1500 families in need every month. This effort is very successful due to your participation and the generosity of the members of our community. Click HERE for a detailed list of their preferred donation items.
On Rosh Hashanah, envelopes and bags will be available for donations. On Yom Kippur, please bring non-perishable kosher food items with you; we will have a Yad Ezra truck parked in our lot for convenient drop-off.
