12:00 PM - 2:00 PMTemple Israel - Herman HallJoin Temple Israel’s People of the Book Club, in conjunction with our Anti-Racism Task Force for a book discussion with Dr. Tara Hayes, the Book Club Professor, for a thought-provoking discussion of Geraldine Brooks novel Horse.
Horse is a new American epic that, despite its simple title, explores the intricacies of race, freedom, horses, art. Yes, it all connects as Brooks takes us through history and examines the legacy of slavery and the race for freedom in the United States and the long-term implications.
This event is open to the community. Cost: $10 - Temple members; $18 - non-members. Drinks and cookies will be provided and attendees are encourage to bring their own lunch.
