We invite our entire community to join us for a powerful event featuring Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, parents of Hersh Goldberg-Polin z"l.

Rachel and Jon will share their experience of mourning, how and where they find strength, and what life is and can be, even amidst shattering grief.

This kick-off event launches a new initiative at Temple Israel, The Empty Chair. There is no name to call a parent who has buried an adult child, or a sibling that has buried an adult sibling. They are not widows/widowers, they are not orphans. There is no name for the people who are left behind and must endure the empty chair at the table that should be filled by their son or daughter, brother or sister. Through the generosity of The Ryan Dembs Memorial Fund, we have established The Empty Chair Program , a support group for this unnamed group of people. 

Whether or not you are grieving a loved one, please join us for this powerful event to find support with each other and to honor the memory of Hersh Goldberg-Polin z”l.

This event is free and open to the public; however we ask for a suggested donation of $18 to help support future Empty Chair Programming.
