Jewish Journeys

Join Cantor Michaels for a candid chat with Temple Israel’s home-grown sons and daughters, now poised to take the music world by storm.

Through the conversations, we will learn about their time as musicians at Temple and how these experiences played into their musical journey and manifests in as artists today.

March 10 at 7pm - An Interview With Dan Hacker, Artist & Producer

Muzzy Bearr is the brainchild of Detroit-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Dan Hacker. Heavily influenced by the rich musical history of The Motor City, Hacker has been known to pull from a wide array of sounds ranging from Motown and Detroit Techno to Hip-Hop/Rap and Disco, making music that sounds fresh yet familiar to anybody who listens. Known by most for his extensive work both touring and in the studio with fellow Detroiter GRiZ, Hacker has been working hard since 2014’s Vintage Sutra to discover what makes him unique, and thinks that the broad scope of inspiration he pulls from combined with his experience in the industry allow him to bend genre and style in a way all his own and not concern himself with trends or popularity. Muzzy Bearr is an effort to make music for music’s sake, and the man behind the moniker is someone who hopes to keep you guessing what is coming next...stay along for the ride, the vibes are high and the groove is right.

The program will also include a short performance.
