Yom Kippur Mincha Moments

Monday, September 28, 2020 10 Tishrei 5781

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

This year, we will share intimate conversations that focus on the heart of the past six months. Covid-19 has changed the course of our lives, and for some, ended the lives of those we loved.

In this two-part event, we look at various sides of the pandemic. The first being through the lens our medical professionals that helped guide us every step of the way and the second from a Temple family who shares their story of loss and resilience.

Part 1

We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. James Gordon, MD and Dr. Charles Schwartz, MD serve as our Medical Advisory Team. Dr. Gordon is Chief of the Division of Infectious Disease at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital and Dr. Schwartz is Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital.

These two highly-respected physicians have been guiding us throughout the pandemic. In our conversation hosted by Rabbi Jennifer Kaluzny, we explore how the pandemic disrupted our lives and how, as a community, we relied on medical professionals to help guide our decisions to put plans and procedures in place.

Part 2

We are also honored to hear from the Beltzman family as they share their very personal story of survival and loss. The Beltzmans understand the devastation that COVID can cause. They will share how they helped nurse one parent back to health, while at the same time had to say goodbye to another. You will not want to miss their incredibly moving story.
