The Album

This album marks a meaningful milestone for Coleen Dieker as her first solo recording, created and produced by Temple Israel Detroit, Michigan. The project was born from an invitation by the Temple Israel Music Department and made possible through the generous support of Temple members Joyce Keller, Michael Walch, and Roger Goodman. From the outset, Dieker approached the album as a musical offering to the global Jewish community, writing fresh material rooted in shared prayer, reflection, and lived experience. She was joined by longtime collaborators Cantor Neil Michaels and Maya Grinboim of Temple Israel, along with Michael Shimmin and Takashi Iio, musicians who performed in her very first concert at Temple Israel. The sessions unfolded organically, guided by trust, creativity, and deep musical connection.
