Goodman Family Judaic & Archival Museum at Temple Israel currently features beautiful pieces from two local artists:

Gail Rosenbloom Kaplan is a working artist with a studio in Farmington Hills, Michigan. As an artist she has been privileged to not only create art but also to share her talents with the community through gallery exhibitions and installations. Gail believes in the power of art to heal and teach. She is committed to community projects with schools, hospitals, and senior citizen residences and has worked with students in our Temple Israel Tyner Religious School. Her portfolio of work includes trompe l‘oeil clay, glass mosaics, printmaking, and mixed media. She will have her Judaica prints included in our showcases along with the work of artist Martin Lowenberg.

    Martin Löwenberg
began his training in crafts and design while living in Europe. World War II broke out, and Martin, at the age of thirteen, was sent to a concentration camp, the first of five he endured in four years of captivity. After liberation in 1945, he immigrated to the United States. Over the years, Martin has continued to perfect his skills at designing and creating jewelry, metallic creations, and Judaica. His work can be found in museums, synagogues, and many private collections. Martin lives in the Detroit metropolitan area, where he maintains his studio. He will be speaking at our next ASK Lunch Speaker Series, Monday, February 14, at 12 PM.
