ARCHIVES
Maintains documentation of Temple Israel’s activities and leadership so that our history will be accurately recorded and preserved.
CARING COMMUNITY
Functions as an umbrella organization, helping to create Temple Israel’s human service programs and support groups.
COLLEGE CONNECTION
Uses a variety of communication tools to connect college students to Temple, informing them in a timely manner of upcoming events and other important Jewish community information. Helps assemble gift packages to send students during Chanukah and Passover.
CULTURAL
Creates and implements an annual program of music for the Temple Sanctuary Series and the Schmier Chapel Chamber Series.
FUNDRAISER
Plans and implements activities and events to raise funds for the Caring Community and Social Action programs.
FUTURE PLANNING
Gathers data and develops ideas for future Temple programs, services and other needs.
HOUSE
Maintains responsibility for Temple’s property and establishes rules governing the use of the Temple Building.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Reviews, develops and makes recommendations for continual improvement to our computer systems.
LABOR DAY PICNIC
Plans Temple Israel’s annual community wide Labor Day picnic, hosting thousands of adults and children for a fun-filled afternoon at the Temple.
LIBRARY
Oversees operation of the Weinberg Family Library and the Hodari Family Children’s Library and Media Center. Volunteers are also always needed to help shelve and process books in both libraries, on a regular or occasional basis – no experience necessary.
MEMBERSHIP
Welcomes new Temple Israel members and helps to integrate them into congregational life.
MINYAN CORP
Oversees the minyan leaders whose responsibilities are to lead daily morning services at Temple and go into houses of shiva and lead evening services.
MUSEUM & FINE ARTS
Coordinates exhibits for display in the Goodman Judaic and Archival Museum and oversees the acquisition, placement, and maintenance of Temple’s fine arts objects.
OUTREACH
Develops and implements programs designed to welcome and involve both Jews by Choice and interfaith families in the life of the congregation.
RITUAL
Works with the Clergy and the Temple Board of Trustees to establish and maintain rituals of the Temple and to promote religious observance within a home.
SOCIAL ACTION
Helps people in need, develops positive inter-group relationships, addresses environmental concerns, feeds the hungry, houses the homeless, and responds quickly to relevant issues and emergencies as they arise.
